Leah works as a maid in the hotel during the day, while Meital, her daughter, sings at the hotel’s lobby at night. They live trapped in their relationship, surrounded by the Dead Sea.

Miki Polonski
Director

Miki Polonski is a writer and a film director from Israel. He graduated with distinction from the Film
Department of “Minshar” School of Art, Tel Aviv. He teaches film directing and lectures at “Sapir”
Academic College and “Minshar” School of Art. Polonski directed six short films which have been
screened in numerous film festivals and won multiple international awards. In 2015, he directed Ten
Buildings Away, which premiered as an Official Selection at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, in the
“Cinéfondation” category; 1 Building and 40 People Dancing has won the Best documentary short film in
“DocAviv” and the Israeli Documentary Filmmakers’ Forum. His latest short film, Shmama, won the
“Pardino d'argento” award at Locarno Film Festival 2017. In the last year, his short films were featured in
retrospectives at several international film festivals. Takotsubo is Polonski’s debut feature film, it has
received a development support from the “Rabinovich” Foundation for the Arts and The New Fund for
Cinema.

Born in Israel, in 1970, Rotem Dror started her career as a longtime member of the Israeli rockband
Girafot. Since graduating from “Hed” College of Sound Design, in 2000, she has been the sound editor
and designer of numerous award-winning short films, documentaries and feature films, in Israel and
abroad. She is an independent sound designer for TV and cinema, and she teaches sound design at TAU
and “Minshar” College of Art.
